Vermont Bookstores

Page history last edited by Vermont Librarian 10 years, 3 months ago

We are lucky to continue to have independent bookstores with helpful, knowledgeable staff.  These stores enrich our communities.  The Flying Pig in Shelburne, Vermont is one such store.  With a wide variety of books for children through adults and a staff that reads widely and deeply .  I take deep delight if I ever mention a book they haven't already read, and I am a reader.  This delight has happened only twice in years.  The suggestions from the owners (Josey and Elizabeth) and their staff expand my joy of reading every time.

Now Burlington is home to the newly opened Phoenix Books (also one in Essex).  A beautiful store with lots of space for displays, a spacious children's section downstairs, and helpful staff.  Boxes are still being unpacked, so there will be more to come!  Also in Burlington, Crow Books for both new and used books.  Crow has a wonderful Vermont section as well as a big poetry section!  We are lucky to be blessed with such treasures as these!
