Hi Mara,

First, the positive--I have learned A LOT from working through the first 9 weeks so far.  I appreciate the ability to work at my own pace and it's great knowing that the "things" aren't going to be pulled from cyberspace any time soon.

My biggest frustration, particularly with the first few weeks, is that much seems to be assumed.  We were sent places that we (I) really knew nothing about nor what to expect and it was assumed that we could navigate through the site or the process, whatever it was.   I'm the kind of person who really needs clear directions to follow:  Go here.  Click on this.  You'll need to register.  Type in this.  etc. etc.

I was also pulling my hair out at times because of the multiple accounts I had to create and the passwords I was going to have to remember, but I suppose there's no way around that.  Can't play unless you register to play...

1.One week isn't long enough for each section. How about 2 weeks? (submitted by Mara)

2. It would be great if Mara provided more encouragement, especially commenting on everyone's blogs (submitted by Mara)

3. Too bad Mara abandoned her own blog (submitted by Mara)

Hi Mara--1.  I thought the "things" are the beginning went along quickly.  Then after the catch-up week, the "things" seemed more to take longer.  I could be that I just spent more time trying them out.   2.  I think it would be beneficial to have a chat room where we could (required) to check in 3 to 4 times a week to engage in the online chats.  I did that in another course and it was very helpful.  It was interesting to find out what frustrations and aha moments others were experiencing.  3.  Once I got comfortable, I wanted to change everything I had created.  I am looking to continuing this work during this summer.  I think it might be fun to have participants include some interesting Web 2.0 sites we have found.  (submitted by Jane)

I'm a little sorry that I posted anonymously. Of course I didn't want to risk my professional dignity by demonstrating how little I knew!  :^)  As time went on, I was thrilled to find out the identities of some of the other bloggers.  If you know anyone who is considering participating in the next round, encourage them to be bold and declare themselves!

It bears repeating: we're librarians, and we have the usual busy periods. I loved knowing that the lessons would just stay on the web until I got around to doing them. And no, I'm not on the list of those who have finished all 23!

Jane, thanks for your feedback. I think it's true that the later Things require more attention. I really like your chat room idea. I will try to figure out how to set that up. I will also add a page to the wikis for people to add interesting Web 2.0 sites they found.

I think that 23 Things is incredible! I thank you for this valuable resource and hope the site stays up for awhile longer so I can refer to it in the coming year. Thank you! (submitted by Cheryl)

I'm so glad you're going to have another session this summer! I started the 23 Things late and then let myself get sidetracked with other stuff at school and totally fell behind. I was planning on still finishing it over the summer, and now it will be so much better with others! As far as a chat idea -- how about trying Skype? It's a free download and works on both PCs and Macs. Thanks for doing this! (submitted by Sue)
